Snappn was created by Jason, a person who found it difficult to find good apps in the app store. So he created Snappn, an app that would show the reviews from top reviewers, and its iTunes rating and an average score based on that. This would enable you find the best apps.
Inside The App
When your open Snappn you land on the ‘Explore’ page. Here apps are categorized into four lists, those are ‘Most Recent Reviews’, ‘New’,'Popular’ and ‘Recommended’. You can also make it show your own customized list of apps, by selecting the options in top left of the ‘Explore’ page. If you tap open on an app, you will find details such as its Snappn Score, description, screen shot, video reviews, reviews from various top app reviewers like AppSafari,MacLife,Touch Archade,PocketGamer their rating for the app. You can save an app as your favorite, rate it and add your comment about it.
Also you can view the review of the apps listed in it, without leaving Snappn. Next is the ‘Search’ page also you can search by name as well as by all other criteria s mentioned in the app store. The next page is the ‘Saved Apps’ in which all the apps which you have saved as your favorite will be displayed. The last one is the ‘More’ in which your profile, details about the app and its developer Jason, and other details are mentioned.
One important feature of Snappn is that, it prevents developers who release a new version and hide their previous low ratings, by taking only the “Overall iTunes Rating”. And the average score is calculated only based on the publishers authority rather than simply absorbing the numbers.
Verdict
Snappn is being a good source of reviews for iOS apps & games. But when I checked for Infinity Blade, there is only the iTunes Rating and no other reviews. And I wanted to point it out as there were hundreds of reviews, videos about that famous app, and I don’t know why Snappn haven’t fetched anyone of them. Other than that the app has a simple user interface and has all the necessary fields one needs to check for the quality of the app. And I will call it as the rotten tomatoes for iOS apps.
